What do you think?
This month's debate will be held on Wednesday 18th December between 11 am - 1 pm UK time or 2 - 4 pm Ugandan time. This is different from our normal last Thursday of the month. Looking forward to your ideas!
No - it can never be ended but it can be reduced through goverment policies and prioritising people over profits.
No because people have destroyed the enviroment by cutting down trees thus affecting the climate. As a result of this, it has led to changes in seasons of the year thus affecting agriculture in Uganda and other Countries.
No because the population in Uganda is too big and food is too little therefore as a result hunger can not end.
No because too much rain fall has affected the crops of farmers in this year as aresult causing to famine in the Country and promoting hunger.
No because of displacement of people from other Countries like Congo and South Sudan has affected the Country in not having enough food to feed the local people and refugees.
No because disasters like land slides, mud slides, floods experienced in Uganda in this year has greatly affected the whole population as crops were affected during such disasters and this will promote hunger in the Country.
No because some families are polygamous and have many dependants but will less/little or no food. Such families can not avoid to experience hunger.
Wars experienced with in and outside the Country cause alot of problems like displaced people not to have what to eat and thus depend on food given to them by agencies like world food programme hence such categories will continue to experience hunger.
Yes if their is proper implementation of goevernment programmes like promoting agriculture and climate change awareness in the Country.
Yes if families practice monogamy than polygamy and also producing of children they can look after in providing basic needs like food, shelter, clothing, education, extra.
Yes if government supports every house hold with seeds to boast thier agriculure. Hunger will be no more in families and people will have enough food.
Yes if government puts up strict laws concerning how to protect the enviroment this will help in not affecting seasons thus people will have enough food.
Yes if government provides farmers with tractors which can be used to cultivate thier gardens, this will help them harvest crops in large quantities hence promoting enough food in families and reducing hunger.
Maybe in the future we won’t need to eat food and we will become like machines and eat electricity?
There would be enough food if we all went vegetarian. When we eat meat we have to grow food for the animals and it takes up more space.
We have food banks to try to get people enough to eat but it can make people ashamed to go there to get food and they don’t always get the food they like most.
If people were prepared to share then I think there could be enough. But some people take too much and others have too little.
I don't think so because some people are greedy and selfish. Unless everyone learns to care more then we will have hunger.
Maybe we will get super seeds in the future which will let us feed everyone lots of food? This is why I want to be a scientist so I might solve problems like world hunger.
Which is worst being hungry or being thirsty?
No it's not possible - some people will always be hungry because of the capitalist system we have
Some people don't like farming, so should they go hungry if they don't help to grow some of the food? Could they bring other skills?
I want to say yes. Since there is enough food in the world at the moment. It's the food system that is the problem.
